IT BEGAN IN IKAST, DENMARK ... In the heart of the Danish fashion and textile industry Jens Poulsen in 2001 founded the fashion company, DK Company, which has developed into one of Europe’s leading suppliers of fashion & lifestyle brands catering to men and women. The Group employs 2.200 people, including sourcing offices in the Far East and the people employed in our own stores.
2019 TWO ACQUISITIONS DURING THE FIRST SIX MONTHS In May, DK Company took over the two male brands Solid and Tailored & Originals, complementing the male universe in Vejle. The acquisition included 14 stores in Denmark and Norway. In the beginning of 2019 DK Company acquired the female brand Saint Tropez, supporting the midmarket segment. The brand was integrated at the Copenhagen office.
2016 THREE NEW BRANDS In the beginning of the year DK Company acquires the three brands Culture, Pulz Jeans, and Educe. All three brands support the strategy of supplying the midmarket with value for money products. DELISTINGMarch 16 2016 DK Company A/S is delisted from the Danish stock exchange NASDAQ First North.
2015 EXPANSION OF RETAIL BUSINESS In the late autumn DK Company strengthens its position at the European retail market by acquiring the shares in COMPANYS Retail AG. DK Company takes over seven centrally placed COMPANYS stores and two outlets in Switzerland. In November DK Company enters into partnership with DSM CPH A/S, adding further 12 stores to the portfolio in Denmark. After this transaction DK Company fully or partly owns 32 stores at the Danish market.
2014 ACQUISITION OF BON'A PARTE In December DK Company enters into an agreement of acqui-sition of the brand BON’A PARTE with effect from 1 January 2015. The acquisition of the mail order and e-commerce company is of significant importance for DK Company, which takes a step closer towards its goal of having three strong platforms as fundament of the company: Wholesale, retail and e-commerce.
ACQUISITION OF INWEAR, MATINIQUE, PART TWO, SOAKED IN LUXURY AND COMPANYS In Spring DK Company enters into an agreement of acquisition of the brands InWear, Matinique, Part Two and Soaked in Luxury and the retail concept Companys from IC Companys A/S with effect from 1 July 2014. With this acquisition DK Company becomes one of the leading players within the mid-market-segment in Scandinavia with an expected turnover of DKK 2.2 billion.
The purchase is a step towards becoming one of Europe’s significant multi brand suppliers. The volume and the position of the brands fit perfectly into DK Company’s portfolio of products, adding volume in the high end of the mid-market. Going forward DK Company will be represented with domiciles in both Copenhagen, the Triangle Region and Central Jutland.
CASUAL FRIDAY BY BLEND - A NEW BRAND DK Company is pleased to announce the launch of a new and exciting menswear brand, Casual Friday by Blend. A slightly grown up line for the Blend man who’s ready to embark on the next phase of his life: the workplace. Casual Friday by Blend is a line of clothing inspired by its term and the style of dressing that developed as a result. The term, ‘casual Friday’ was coined in North America decades ago and allowed employees one day per week (Friday) the opportunity to dress down from their usual business attire and established office dress codes. Casual Friday by Blend is a line of clothing that represents the style indicative of casual Fridays. It is designed for a more sophisticated, young, city man who has something to say through his wardrobe. And that message is: I’m ready to conquer the world!
2012 DK COMPANY TAKES OVER THREE DIVISIONS DK Company A/S takes over three divisions from BTX Group; Modern division (Fransa, b.young, Dranella and Veto), the Young division (Blend, FQ1924, ICHI, Gestuz and Blend She). With this acquisition, DK Company gets a strong foothold on the fashion market for men where the company did not operate before. The company also gets a strong position within the young women’s segment where DK Company A/S was not represented before.
With the acquisition, DK Company A/S takes over 184 stores. 105 of these stores are owned by the company and the rest are owned by franchisers. The company has been listed on NASDAQ First North.Some smaller brands from DK Classic division and DK Kids division are being sold: Pardon, Choise, Liva, Minymo and Tinyminymo, Gaia & Ko and Deluca.
2011 EXPANSION OF BUSINESS In collaboration with the fashion company, Pardon Clothing A/S, a subsidiary company is established for classic fashion wear, DK Classic. The company moves into DK Company’s former head office. On an international level the group employs over 800 people.DK Company acquires all activities in the fashion company Kello, which from now on is a part of DK Classic.
In May, DK Company takes over the remainder of the public limited company behind Bonus Banken and with this deal, the company is listed on the stock exchange at the end of September.In the late summer, DK Company takes over the majority holding in the production and sales company, MID ProTex A/S. With this investment the group secures a production related platform in Eastern Europe.
DESIGNERSMARKET RETAIL CONCEPT
DK Company activates the brand name designersmarket for the company’s newly developed multi-brand retail concept, and the first designersmarket shop opens in Holstebro, Denmark.
The brand CCDK is closed down, whilst the purchasing office in China is enlarged with a production factory.
DK Company invests in a new unit of 12.000 m2 in Ikast, Denmark.
As a further development of the children’s clothing division, the children’s accessory company, Gaia & Ko, becomes part of DK Company Kids Division.
2009PRODUCTION FACTORY IN BANGLADESH DK Company establishes the production factory in Bangladesh with a capacity for 1,8 million pieces a year. Thus the group now employs well over 500 employees in Bangladesh. In Denmark the Blooming Concept strategy is further developed with the acquisition of CCDK, Karen by Simonsen and designersmarket.
2008 TAKE OVER OF BLUE WILLIS AND KÖN & MÖN The acquisition strategy is thriving. DK Company takes over the lifestyle label Blue Willi’s and the jeans brand Kön & Mön.
2007 BLOOMING CONCEPT IS INTRODUCED DK Company introduces the Blooming Concept – a flower as the graphic illustration of an appreciation of DK Company’s multi-brand concept and strategy for growth.
2005 BANGLADESH AND CHINA OFFICES DK Company establishes its own purchasing offices in Bangladesh and China. Jens Obel joins as Director for Kaffe Clothing Company. The basic structure is in place for a multi-brand strategy based on organic growth and acquisition.

2001 DK COMPANY IS ESTABLISHED BY JENS POULSEN Jens Poulsen establishes DK Company. With six employees the company sources production for its own brand, Jasmin, and private label production for external fashion labels.
